The 100 greatest tunes released on Pama Records

They all said it couldn’t be done and so did I… After taking around five years to complete the 100 greatest rocksteady tunes list it didn’t seem possible that anything similar would appear on DanceCrasher. But after taking an extended break there is more action on DanceCrasher and what better way to celebrate the return than another top 100 list!

Another Roots Explosion

Reggae Archive Records continue with their critically acclaimed series of releases of 1970’s and 80’s British Reggae with the release of Midlands Roots Explosion Volume 2 on 20th May. Two from the Burning Sounds…and a Carib Gem

UK based Independent Secret Records have been quietly reissuing classic LP’s on vinyl and CD for some time. Their next batch hits the stores on 26 February and includes three releases previously released on the Burning Sounds or Carib Gems labels in the 1970’s.

Four from the Trojan

The Trojan brand/catalogue has moved around a fair bit over the years and each time it moves it takes some time before it becomes clear what direction the new owners will be going with the music. Inturns on Pressure Sounds

The Inturns (AKA The Viceroys) Phil Pratt produced LP Consider Yourself has been re-issued by Pressure Sounds and is available now on CD, LP and download.

This LP was first released in 1978 on the Chanan Jah label in Jamaica and on Burning Rockers in the UK where it was retitled Detour (Burning Rockers also reissued this in 1985 with 10 tracks, titled Ya-Ho and credited to the Viceroys.

Call the Music Police

Big news of the re-issue front is that Rock A Shacka are putting out the near legendary Niney production Music Police on seven inch later this month.
