      The Rise of Jamaican Dancehall Culture…the album

      To conincide with the publishing of the book of the same name by Beth Lesser Soul Jazz are releasing a double CD or 2 x double LP dancehall compilation on the 10th November.

      A fine half century for Randy's

      To celebrate 50 years since the start of Randy’s VP records are releasing a special 2 CD retrospective with a 40 minute DVD. The CD’s are split down the middle, the first one featuring Ska to early Reggae and the second 70’s sounds. The release has it’s fair share of fairly obvious tunes as is usual in this kind of release but there are some less well known titles thrown in too. CD 1

      A French Natty Dread

      The August/September issue of French reggae magazine Natty Dread is available now. Articles include a feature on K.Vibes (Karen Morrisson) who recorded the superb Frenemies for Studio One, the story of Nanny Goat by Larry and Alvin, interviews with Etana and Bushman and a load more. Pity it’s in French!
