Chris Blackwell's Island label as released in Jamaica before he moved to the UK and started it's more famous UK counterpart. S-U-C-K-I-N by Kes Chin and his Souvenirs was released in 1961. Cluett Johnson's JDI records and Keino Ska (Tribute to Kenya's Keino) by the Los Caballeros Orchestra. The Keino in question is almost certainly Kip Keino the Kenyan long distance runner. JJ Records - My Business/You'll Be Mine - E. Lowden & The Fugitives with Tommy McCook and the Supersonics. Carl JJ Johnson was involved in the production of music from around 1966 to 1972. This is one of his earliest releases. Thanks to Tommy Rock A Shacka for the JDI label and Dinsi for the Island one. |
