Amoung the huge variety of label designs that came out of Jamaica in the 70's a few common stylistic themes tend to crop up time and again.

It's clear that it was easier for a producer to select a standard design to make their releases more attractive rather than to have to design the whole thing themselves. It's for this reason that these stock label designs emerged.

The colour part of the design was almost certainly printed at the same time as the title and label credits as blanks of the coloured label designs don't seem to turn up, and the black print always seems to be the right way up in comparrison with the colour part.

There are several other stock designs that are not included, if you have any examples then please let us know.

Click on each label for more examples of each design.
