Papa Jammy in the area

Jammy's on Dub StoreOnly yesterday I commented that it was getting difficult to keep up with the growing tide of late 80′s digital represses on vinyl. Well, thanks to the Japanese crew at Dub Store it just got pretty much impossible.

Dub Store have announced a deal with Jammy’s that will see 20 great and hard to find late 80′s sides released on 7″ vinyl. The 1st instalment of seven tunes is out now o be followed by another seven on March 8th and a final six on March 22nd.

Out Now:
Dennis Brown – The Exit/Version
Wayne Smith – My Lord My God/Version
Little Kirk – Don’t Trust The Crack/Version
Red Dragon – Jam Down Posse/Version
Robert Lee & Bunny General – Midnight Hour/Version
Eccleton Jarrett – Rock Them One By One/Version
Chacka Demus – Original Kuff/Version

The inclusion of The Exit is surprising as this was reissued only a short while ago.

These retail at around £6 to £7 each which is far from cheap but it’s safe to assume that the mastering, pressing and presentation will be to a high standard. Early orders from reggaerecord.com for the set get a free poster and all buyers get a Jammy’s postcard and label sticker. This is nothing like the old days when all you got was an off centre 7″ pressed with a worn out stamper in a tissue paper thick paper sleeve and for that price it’s a good job too.
