Johnny Clarke’s Blood Dunza was a big hit for producer Bunny Lee when it was first released circa 1977. Now 30+ years later Frenchie at Maximum Sounds has taken the original rhythm (this sounds like the real deal – not a recut) and voiced some of the biggest modern roots artists on it.
The result is four vocal cuts an instrumental and a version all on nice crisp 7″. People who say doing this kind of thing is unoriginal are probably right but that doesn’t stop them sounding great. Pick of the bunch is the Yami Bolo but Sizzla also shows that he can still cut a fine tune.
