A Little More Witty

Witty RecordsI’m kind of slow of the blocks with these releases but thought they were worth a mention anyway because they’re fine. Gold Shop out of New York have re-released another five tunes on seven inch from the Witty catalogue. These are all on one rhythm called Rough Wine:

  • Sluggy Ranks – Rough Wine / Version
  • Junior Wilson – Mama Told Me / Version
  • Nitty Gritty – Sweet Dreams / Version
  • Sugar Minott – No Wicked / Version
  • Carlton Livingston – Why You Do It / Version

Some tunes here first saw release only as LP tracks whilst others were on 12″s licensed to other labels and so on. Bick of the bunch for DanceCrasher is the Sugar Minott, with an honourable mention to Nitty Gritty for voicing his take of the Eurythmics pop hit – you’ll either love it or hate it.
