Following on from the last post featuring the interview with Sir Collins I thought I’d ressurect the mix of Sir Collins music that went on the DanceCrasher podomatic site around three years ago. This was one of the most popular DanceCrasher mixes on podomatic.
If you check the comments on the previous post you’ll see Gary Collins has left the following message:

SIR COLLINS AND FAMILY
Sir Collins And Friends
[audio:http://www.dancecrasher.co.uk/mix/collins.mp3]In the late 60’s Clancy Collins AKA Sir Collins Downbeat started releasing Rocksteady tunes on his Collins Downbeat label. From the start he had a relationship with Bunny Lee who provided mastertapes that were either released as they were or overdubbed in the UK with singers, DJs or instrumental solos.
You can hear this on three rhythms on this mix. Music Field, Grab A Girl and You Don’t Care (I’m Shocking…). Delroy Wilson’s Live As One (on a Joe Gibbs original) and the Marlene Webber tune both date from around 1971 shorlty before the next chapter of Sir Collins musical career with the establishment of his Sir Collins Music Wheel label.

Recently got a CD called ” Cool, Cool Rocksteady ” which features loads of the tracks listed above . All in superb quality , btw. Not very often that you get ” multiple version ” Rocksteady tracks . Recommended , imho , for the non vinylites !

This compilation’s not always using real artist / track names and as I can’t find any 7″ release of this one I think it’s not the original one.
Can you help please ?
