Aitken all over

Having recently re-released Ska With Laurel and Laurel Aitken Says Fire, Pressure Drop Records are back on the 18 of May with two more installments of the late and sometimes great Laurel Aitken. This time the two LP’s first released on Pama, “The High Priest Of Reggae” and “Scandal In Brixton Market” (with Laurel alongside Girlie) are given the reissue treatment. These two first saw the light of day in 1970 and it looks like these too will feature the original sleeve artwork and will have numerous bonus tracks.

Notables on the bonus front include Moon Rock and Cut Up Munno on the Scandal… LP, these two tunes only saw release on a limited circulation blank on the Bamboo label, and the very rare (and very average!) Skinhead Invasion on the High Priest…LP this originally came out on a Nu Beat blank only and usually commands three figures on the rare occasions that one appears for sale.
